collections in a 289 acres of
land. Although the site is
recovering from the impacts of
hurricane María, it is worth a
visit. It is divided in two parts
(north and south), but most of
the attractions are found in the

National Natural Landmark - The scenic
Cabo Rojo site is an excellent example of a
tombolo (tied island) with two sand spits.
The landform resembles a large letter Y with
a bar across the top enclosing a salt water
lagoon. The site includes mangroves,
beaches, reddish cliffs, xeric vegetation and
seabird nesting habitat.
