Hilda Morales - Owner
In 2008 we trained the future tour guides for the Municipality of Mayagüez through the Puerto Rican
Association of Interpretation and Education, Inc. (APIE). During the practicum, the students
offered a variety of tours including the historic walking tour of Mayagüez. Part of the staff from
different municipal office walked with us. As a special guest, we invited doña Carmen Martell (now
95 years old) an experienced traveler who shared her knowledge and travel anecdotes. Ten years
later, the municipal tourism office is still open and some of the guides still work for them.
Wednesday thru Sunday

Flexible, from Mayagüez

Founded in 1760, Mayagüez has
always been the most important
town in the western region.
This historic walking tour takes you
through time and history. You will
witness the place where the town
was founded, where the children of
the slaves were baptized and given
their freedom. This is the basic
tour if you are going to stay several
days in the city and want to learn
what and where to go. Did you
know this was the hometown of
Picasso´s mother? Join us!
|Photo Walk, sightseeing and a scavenger hunt version also available for this option.
