| During our 1 hour drive to Las Marías your guide will share aspects of the social and economical development of Puerto Rico (1800-1900). We will visit Hacienda Palma Escrita, home of Café La Casona, one of the few coffee plantations still in operation. Local guide at the hacienda will share information on the stages involved in the cultivation process (cultivation, harvest of the fruit, processing, pulping, washing, drying, hulling, and finally, roasting) until it gets to your table. Depending on selected date, lunch will be at La Casona de Artemio or Hacienda Juanita in Maricao (not included in price). At the end we will visit a local candy factory.
