With a limited geographic area of only 111 x 39 miles, the avifauna of the Archipelago of Puerto Rico consists of
approximately 349 species of birds, of which 17 are endemic species.  Around 120 of these species breed in Puerto
Rico, others overwinter in the archipelago.  The Caribbean region hosts 208 endemic bird species, we have 12% of
those endemic species, plus other Caribbean specialties.

Our birding trips are offered on a private basis, small groups and multiple day tour packages.  We also offer photo
birding tours and birding kayak tours.

Join one of our birders around our national territory. Whether you are staying in San Juan, Mayagüez, Fajardo,
Vieques, planning your next trip to Puerto Rico, or just a short stop on a cruise ship visit,
we have the right birding
alternative for you!

A technical short stop at a local bakery will give you the opportunity to buy fresh coffee produced in this town.  A
one hour moderate to challenging effort hiking trail will take us to Salto Curet.  On our way, we will be crossing on
several occasions.  You should bring:  comfortable hiking boots or shoes, sunblock lotion, hat, binoculars, and
camera.
Snacks and bottle of water included.  Swimming is not allowed on this tour.
Located in the Southwest corner of Puerto Rico, the salt flats not only are one of the most important points for
migrating shorebirds in the Eastern Caribbean, but it is also important in Cabo Rojo´s economic development through
history, and a prime fish habitat.  In 1999 the salt flats became part of the US Fish and Wildlife Service system.

Legends and tales of pirates, a combat between two towns in search of  the control of the salt production, an old
lighthouse built by the Spaniards, unique fauna and flora, are only part of what you will learn during this imaginary
journey through time and space.  You should bring:  comfortable hiking boots or shoes, sunblock lotion, hat,
binoculars, and camera.
Bordering the Caribbean Sea, Guánica State Forest, is considered the best preserved subtropical dry forest on Earth.
It was designated as a forest reserve in 1919 and as a United Nations Biosphere Reserve in 1981 because of its
biological biodiversity.

Three types of forest are found in this reserve:  deciduous, semi-evergreen, and scrub forests.  Guánica Forest is
considered a paradise for birdwatchers, home of the Puerto Rican Nightjar.  You should bring:  comfortable hiking
boots or shoes, sunblock lotion, hat, binoculars, water, and camera.
