| Day workshops - we are now offering 4 hour afternoon bird and wildlife photography workshops starting in March 2015 in both the Houston, TX area and Tacoma, WA area. These are great for beginning photographers, those new to bird photography or intermediate photographers who want to brush up on their skills. The leader for the Houston area workshops is Nate Chappell, the leader for the Tacoma area workshops is Ken Archer. Both are award winning wildlife photographers. There is a maximum of 4 photographers per workshop to ensure personalized attention. Cost: The workshops can be booked as a package or as individual workshops. The cost per workshop is $125 or $500 for all 4. If it is booked as a package of 4 then each photographer will receive an extra 1 hour pre course presentation by the leader on photographing birds and wildlife as well as a private 1 hour image processing session at the end of the course. Besides that all workshops are in the field instruction - we will start out with getting your cameras set up for wildlife photography. Each of the 4 workshops will have different subject matters and things to work on. If you take all 4 you should have a good understanding of bird and wildlife photography at the end of the course. If any workshop is rained out due to bad weather you can make up the workshop another week. The workshop fees do not include transport to the destination or park/zoo entrance fees if applicable. Although they are scheduled to end at 6:30 pm if the light is good we will photograph until sunset. Equipment rental - If you don't have a lens and/or dslr suitable for wildlife photography we have ones that we can rent out. The cost is $30 per workshop or $100 for the full 4 week session. We recommend a minimum of 300mm effective focal length for wildlife photography (including teleconverters and crop effect of camera).
