It is understood that when you complete the booking process, you agree with our Terms and Conditions.
WEATHER POLICY

  • Our staff will be monitoring the weather for your
    safety through official alerts from the Government.  
    Your guide and/or driver will cancel or reroute your
    walk if her/she believes that potentially dangerous
    situations are probable due to weather conditions.

  • When cancellations are made by us, you will be
    given the option to reschedule the trip or receive a
    rain check valid for one year.

  • If a client decides to cancel before departure time
    due to weather forecast and before our decision
    making, our cancellation policy will apply as we will
    not refund your payment.

  • We highly recommend that you buy a travel
    insurance with cancellation cover before departure
    to your final destination.
CANCELLATIONS BY CLIENTS
At least 72 hrs. before the tour

  • Written notice is required for all
    cancellations 72 hours before the
    tour.

  • A voucher will be issued in the
    amount of the money paid (deposit
    or full payment) and will be sent to
    you via email in the next 72 hours.  
    You should confirm that you have
    received it.

  • You will be allowed to use any money
    paid (deposit or full payment) within
    the next year for any activity of the
    same price.  

  • Reservations are required, please
    send us an email with copy of the
    voucher in order for us to open a
    special ticket for you and apply the
    money paid to your new reservation.

  • If the price of selected activity has
    changed, the difference will be
    charged to your credit card upon
    your approval.

  • Please, do not leave voice messages
    or send text messages; you must
    contact us on the phone and send
    written cancellation notice via
    email.  Do not assume that we have
    received the message; always confirm
    with our staff if you don´t receive a
    communication from us; otherwise,
    balance due will be charged to
    your credit card.

  • A cancellation fee could apply for
    customized/private tours and
    activities that include transfers,
    transportation, equipment rental,
    meals, combos, etc.
What happens after you request?

  • You will receive an email with the copy
    of your request.

  • Upon receipt of your request, we will
    verify if selected date(s), drivers, or
    guides are available.

  • If the date is available, we will confirm
    you in the next 24 hours.

  • We will not charge your credit card for
    the deposit per person until we contact
    you on the phone.   Once we answer all
    your questions, we will proceed to
    confirm your booking.

  • You will have 48 hours to cancel
    your booking via email without it
    been charged to your credit card,
    please inform us via email before this
    48 hours window ends.

  • Your credit card will be charged after
    48 hours of confirming your booking.  

  • Bookings made with less than 72 hours
    of the activity date will be charged as a
    full payment.  A ticket will be opened in
    our booking system to complete your
    reservation. No refund will be issued
    when bookings are made 72 hrs. before
    the tour.

  • A receipt of your payment will be sent
    automatically to your email; this will
    complete your booking online. This
    voucher will be your TICKET.

  • No refunds for the deposit will be given
    after completing the online booking.

CANCELLATIONS BY CLIENTS
Less than 72 hrs. before the tour

  • No refund or voucher will be issued if you cancel your tour 72 hours
    before the trip. Balance due will be charged to your credit card.

  • A minimum cancellation fee of $75 per tour will be charged to
    your credit card depending if you have signed for multiple tours
    or combos and the type of agreement with our suppliers. On
    private or custom tours, fees are higher (see graphic).

LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS, NO SHOWS
the day of the tour

  • Refunds will not be made for unused hotels, tours or meals, if applicable.

  • No refund for last minute cancellations, no show at meeting point, or
    pick-up hotel/port.  

  • There can be no adjustment for unused portions of a program unless
    arrangements have been made with our company prior to departure and
    confirmed via email.

  • If we need to end the trip because our non-smoking policy is not followed, no
    refund will be issued on unsued portitons of the tour.  Any balance due will be
    charged to your credit card; a $250 cancellation fee applies.

  • Balance due, if any, will be charged to your credit card, plus applicable
    fee.

  • A minimum cancellation fee starting at $50 per tour will be
    charged to your credit card depending if you have signed for
    multiple tours or combos.
What will happen if my flight or cruise ship will not arrived on time?

  • We strongly suggest that you purchase a travel insurance policy in
    case flight is canceled or ship has to go to another port due to adverse
    weather conditions.

  • Our staff will keep informed on canceled or delayed flights; you should
    contact us as soon as possible either with our office or the driver that
    will pick up you or group as per instructions in our agreement (waiting
    time, cancellation or rescheduling fees).

  • We strongly recommend that you contact us on the phone or send an
    email, if possible, informing us on the delay, plus a text message to
    designated driver or guide.
INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICIES FOR OUTDOOR
ACTIVITIES

  • Severe weather watches mean that severe
    weather could occur within the next few hours.

  • Severe weather warnings mean that severe
    weather is going to occur within 15-30 minutes.
    Warnings are proceeded by watches (approx.
    1-3 hours before).

  • If thunder is heard, all activities are cancelled until
    30 minutes after the last time thunder is heard.

  • If a severe weather watch or warning is issued
    (including isolated or scattered thunderstorms),
    all outdoor activities will be canceled during the
    warned timeline. As this is out of our control, our
    Weather Policy applies.

CANCELED TOURS FOR REASONS OUT OF OUR CONTROL

  • If for any reason local Government order another lockdown, or there is an event, such as: earthquake, hurricane or war,
    you will be given a credit from funds we can recover from contractors for the services not used, if applicable.  This credit
    will be available to use on your next visit to Puerto Rico within the next year.

  • Any trip to El Yunque National Forest is subject to delays in the road o closing the Forest due to reconstruction of roads
    and facilities due to hurricanes Irma and María. We will give you an alternate date for selected activity or modify the
    route or tour you booked with us.  If you are unable to accept, you will be allowed to use any money paid in your next
    visit to Puerto Rico within the next year.

  • No charges for rescheduling your tour.

CANCELED TOURS BY ADVENTOURS / BIRDING PUERTO RICO

  • No refunds will be given after 48 hours of completing the online booking.

    Nevertheless, if for any reason after 48 hours of completing the booking onine, we must cancel a departure on which
    you are booked and you are unable to accept alternate tour or date/s which will be offered, we will issue a voucher
    valid for five years for any money paid.

    If after you agree (via email or text message) to an alternate tour or date, you decide to cancel, it will be considered
    as a cancellation, henceforth our Cancellation Policy will prevail.  

  • We strongly recommend that you purchase a travel insurance that covers tours cancellation.

  • If we need to end the trip because our non-smoking policy or health protocos are not followed, no refund
    will be issued.  Any balance due will be charged to your credit card, including the cancellation fee (starts at
    $125) and cleaning fee (starts at $250).  Cleaning fees will depend on vehicle use to offer the service.

  • No charges for rescheduling your tour.
CANCELLATION POLICY ON SPECIAL SHARED EVENTS AT EL YUNQUE NATIONAL FOREST

  • Special Shared Event (SSE) means when a customer books a birding tour in El Yunque with the minimum required and
    is not interested in a private tour, we will open the activity as a SSE so that other people can book on the same day and
    time.  The minimum required in our birding tours at El Yunque is two people, regular Terms and Conditions apply.

Solo Travelers

  • When a solo traveler (Customer A) wants to book a tour and prefer to pay only one portion, not the minimum required,
    we open the activity as a SSE.  One non-refundable ticket will be opened and charged to the credit card after 48 hours of
    the booking. The person is responsible to pay for the minimum required to offer the activity if nobody else books the
    same tour.
  • When Customer B is also a solo traveler and books the activity that has been opened as a SSE, both customers (A & B)
    will be paying per person as the minimum of participants has been reached.
  • If Customer A decides to cancel, we cannot charge Customer B for two tickets in order to meet the minimum required
    as requested by Customer A.  There will be no refund to Customer A; a $25 cancellation fee applies.
  • Nevertheless, if Customer A decides to cancel the activity within 48 hours from opening the SSE, the credit card will
    not be charged. BUT, if in the 48 hours period another solo traveler has already booked, the credit card of Customer A
    will be charged.
  • Regardless the reason for the cancellation and the unique nature of our work, we remain firm on our Cancellation Policy as
    per this General Terms and Conditions; henceforth, all deposits/payments are non-refundable for shared events
    for solo travelers.  Thanks for your understanding.
