A 45 minute early morning drive takes us to the small mountainous town
of Maricao,  where most of the Taínos settled after the 1511 rebellion.
Maricao is also home of the Coffee Harvest Festival.

A one hour moderate to challenging effort hiking trail will take us to Salto
Curet.  The hike includes crossing the river twice and finally walk along
the shore or through the river to reach the waterfall.  Swimming at the
waterfall is not allowed for safety reasons.

A short stop at a local bakery will give you the opportunity to buy coffee
from Maricao.  If the tour is offered Thursday thru Sunday, we will include a
stop a Los VIveros (Fish Hatchery).  Don´t forget your binoculars; excellent
alternative for bird watcherss
