This is the opportunity you are looking if you want to see one of our beloved coquí.  There is also a
possibility to see the Puerto Rican Screech Owl and Boa.
  • For groups providing their own transportation, in order to keep the groups small,
    local Guides and drivers will not be allowed to join the hike.
  • We follow Green Globe and APIE Codes of Best Practices.
  • We provide small flashlights which are mainly used for safety reasons and should be pointing
    to the ground.
  • Flash pictures not permitted.
  • For safety reasons, smoking is not allowed at any time.
  • Gate at El Portal is closed by 5:00 PM, admittance to the facilities are available only for those
    people with reservations.
  • A list with the names of all participants and drivers should be submitted at least three
    working days before the hike.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS - BIRD WATCHING - EL YUNQUE NATIONAL FOREST
Private night hike on August 28, 2008.
Magical Nights in El Yunque is a
concept that was born in 2001 as an
agreement between AdvenTours and the
US Forest Service to offer the night hikes
in El Portal de El Yunque where we have
security, parking, restrooms, and an
easy-moderate level effort trail.

Our basic tour starts at 6:30 PM (7:00 PM
during the Summer, June through
August) with a short interpretive talk
about El Yunque National Forest.    While
going to the entrance of the trail, we start
identifying fauna and flora as the
orchestral sounds of the Forest guide us
on our journey.  Safety measures are
explained at the beginning of the trail.
We supply small flashlights

With the option of El Yunque Hybrid you
combine the experience of seeing the
Forest during daylight (EcoTour) and the
night hike, or just dance under the star
with the rhythm of Taíno drums on our
Areytos, exclusively for private groups.
Night hike on February 9, 2010.  We were lucky to find on the same night our beloved coquí, walking
sticks, spiders, snails, glow in the dark fungi, and Puerto Rican Screech Owl.
The night hikes are offered only on a private basis.  Reservations are always
required.  For groups larger than 6 people, please contact our Group Department.
