| CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNTS |
Through the Puerto Rican Association of Interpretation and Education, Inc.
(APIE) we have been coordinating two Christmas Bird Counts. Although
these are celebrated within the time period of the Audubon CBC, both the
Maricao and Vieques CBC are not considered official CBC. Nevertheless,
our goal is to provide the experience to the general public, at the same
time that Tour Guides can improve their bird watching techniques. Data is
collected and share with coordinators, volunteers, and site officials.
Official Audubon CBC celebrated in Puerto Rico are: San Juan Estuary,
Caño Tiburones, Cabo Rojo, and Fajardo, which included Ceiba and El
Yunque National Forest.
